THE DALLEGRET GARAGE EXHIBITION

What if we told you that we were present at the Venice Biennale as a technical partner?

Well, yes!

Spazio Punch, a non-profit cultural organisation with an institutional and underground style, involved us for a new project realised in collaboration with the artist François Dallegret.

It is ‘Garage Dallegret’, an exhibition dedicated to the artist himself, located on the island of Giudecca, on the occasion of the Biennale Architettura 2023.

Garage Dallegret hosts François Dallegret’s visionary imagination at the crossroads of design, plastic arts and technology. The drawings, objects and ephemera on display describe an imaginative practice of the futuristic, which collapses disciplinary boundaries between human body and object, subjectivity and urban context, reality and imagination.

What was the role of the Extreme Printing team within this context?

Bringing the artist’s works to life through printing, with a view to enhancing the essence of what is exhibited.

How?

By carefully selecting the most suitable medium to be used for this purpose. After a meticulous study of the available materials, our choice fell on the use of 3 mm dibond (aluminium).

Dibond is a panel consisting of two rigid aluminium sheets and a polyethylene core that guarantees stability, non-deformability and resistance to light (indoors) and weather (outdoors).

The edges of the sheets are not sharp and are handcrafted for an impeccable result.

Precisely because of its excellent performance, printing on this material is widely used by professional photographers and curators of art and photo exhibitions.

To facilitate the wall installation of the aforementioned works, we have also prepared and applied a sandwich panel on the back of each print, acting as a ‘spacer’, to give them greater thickness in relation to the wall.
