Exhibition “The Shape of Time. The Talmud as architecture”
An exhibition in a library, a cultural space of comparison, exchange and place of appreciation, is a precious opportunity to make manifest how books, especially the oldest ones, can be an inexhaustible source of knowledge that is handed down in the contemporary world, constituting living material for the study and re-reading of its contents.
Extreme Printing had the honour of contributing to the exhibition ‘The Shape of Time. The Talmud as architecture’, born from the artistic research of Giulia Flavia Baczynski, photographer and visual artist active in Mantua, and hosted in the Monumental Rooms of the historic Biblioteca Comunale Teresiana in Mantua, a place of choice for the transmission of knowledge.
The technical solutions adopted were the result of work shared with the artist, Fonderia 20.9 (a cultural space that deals with contemporary photography in Verona and with which the artist has been collaborating for several years) and the architect who designed the layout, Daniele Balzanelli. An ongoing dialogue that led to the realisation of a minimalist and elegant set-up, worthy of the host venue.
With our high quality printing materials and technical and aesthetic solutions studied down to the smallest detail, we helped shape an immersive itinerary capable of narrating the complexity and beauty of the graphic and typographic composition of the Talmud (one of the fundamental texts of the Jewish tradition).
From the choice of the best materials to the elegant finishes of each element, every detail was designed together to enhance the contents and build a harmonious dialogue between past and present, between ancient texts and contemporary interpretations.
